NIES is working to support the development of an adaptation information platform for disseminating the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) and adaptation measures in Thailand and Indonesia based on their experience of developing the Climate Change Adaptation Information Platform (A-PLAT) and the Asia-Pacific Climate Change Adaptation Information Platform (AP-PLAT).

Participants from Thailand and Indonesia gave presentations on the current state of adaptation policies in their respective countries, and the current situation and future plans for adaptation platforms were discussed.

NIES gave presentations on the development of A-PLAT and AP-PLAT, while the Mizuho Information & Research Institute gave a presentation on WebGIS.

Productive discussions were held, not only about the development of A-PLAT and AP-PLAT, but also technical issues associated with WebGIS.

Members of NIES plan to visit Thailand and Indonesia for follow-up training in the 2018 fiscal year, which is expected to be a fruitful training based on the outcomes of this opportunity.
