Professor Eiichi Nakakita of the Disaster Prevention Research Institute, Kyoto University spoke about the latest findings from his research on climate change prediction, including what climate prediction data sets are available and how they can be used to predict heavy rainfall disasters, as well as how to adapt to heavy rainfall disasters without regrets. He also expressed his hope that the Environment Department would serve as a nucleus to raise awareness of the importance of adaptation to a wide range of stakeholders, including those in the field of natural disasters.
